Ruplal Maravi has reached Mahuaripara under Dandkava village and panchayat in Pratappur of Surajpur district in Chhattisgarh and talking to Dharampal who tells him that elephant demolished two of their homes and ate food. They are living under the tree. Sarpanch gave him 10 kg rice but it is not enough. Forest dept and local administration hasn’t helped yet. They want compensation and help for remaking their houses. Prakash Gupta from Surguja district of Chhattisgarh is suggesting farmers to adopt drip irrigation. It is worrying that underground water level is going down. By drip irrigation one can save water upto 80% and also double production. It is more beneficial for vegetable farming. A thin pipe line laid down on the farm which is connected with tube well or other sources of water reaches plants through tiny holes.
