Rakesh Rai from Surguja district in Chhattisgarh has met with some villagers from Pargadhi village of Singitana panchayat of Lakhanpur block who are running pillar to post for their problem. The villagers say some poles were erected but they do not have any electricity in their 45 houses but they are getting bills. Tej Rai Painkra from Bisunpur village in Udaipur block of Surguja district of Chhattisgarh is telling that around 40 people from his village worked under NREGA in 2011 but they have got only part of the wages. They have been to many officers collectively and have tried available helplines but that has not resulted in anything positive yet. He says they want to work in NREGA which is a very helpful program for poor but wont be able to do so if the wages are not paid for years. You are requested to call officials to help. Savita Rath from Jan Chetna in Raigarh in Chhattisgarh is telling us about a meeting of people from 15 villages in Gare village in Tamnar block who are protesting Govt’s decision to have a public hearing next month for proposed coal mine for Jindal. Ramji Rai from Bundelkhand Buniyadi Adhikar Manch is visiting a village called Hukumpur in Gharawa panchayat in Datia district of Madhya Pradesh where he finds that there is no anganwadi in the village. No health worker ( Asha) has also been appointed.
