To make way for Vedanta, road connecting to village is dug

Mahammad Ashlam from Kalahandi says administration has dug up the only road connecting to village Bengopali for red mud pond of Vedanta refinery in Lanjigarh two days back. People protested and police has arrested 54 male from the village and have beaten up women. Villagers are sitting on strike in the police station. Chief Minister's visit cancelled so is road repair work...

Bhim Singh Netam from Kawardha district in Chhattisgarh says earlier this month there was a program of Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh to visit his area. After the announcement the contractors started repairing the roads of Pradhanmantri Gram Sadak Yojna but as soon as the CMs program got cancelled they have thrown away the road repair material around and have left the work incomplete. Road constructed with anti Naxal money, villagers happy...

Tapan Das today is telling us the story about a village in border of Odisa and Chhattisgarh. The village got no road, no electricity, no water in 65 years after independence. Thanks to Integrated Action Plan of Govt of India to fight Maoists a road has been constructed in the village and villagers are very happy. Posco: Villagers protest road building effort in the area...

Mr Das from Jagatsinghpur district of Orissa says some contractors are trying to build a road near proposed site of Posco steel plant which people are protesting. He says Govt is saying many people have taken compensation but people say they have taken compensation for the damage to their crop and they will not give any land to the company. Lack of connecting road obstructs development of village
