Mangal Kunjam from Dantewada in Chhattisgarh is interviewing an adivasi boy Pankaj Telam who tells him in Gondi that the local mining company National Mineral Development Corporation who is mining in the area from many years is only taking pictures of adivasis to use them in their posters. He says if you go to their offices you will find lots of pictures of adivasis but they have not done much for the development of adivasis rather they are exploiting them. Govt doing mining survey without permission of Gram Sabha

Bimal Labore from Kolhan area of West Singhbhim district of Jharkhand says Govt is doing survey of villages for Lime stone mining without consultation of Gram Sabhas. In some villages they have marked the areas to be mined. 3000 people came out in protest against it and gave a protest letter in name of Governor to local SDO. Public hearing on Children affected by Mining in Ranchi

Villagers oppose mining work in Latehar, Jharkhand

Prakash Oraon from village Newari in Latehar district of Jharkhand says that people in his village are protesting against work of TCML ( A joint venture of Hindalco and Tata Power) from a week but the company is contuning their work. He alleges that for breaking the people’s resistance company is using brokers who are supplying liquor and other intoxicating stuff to people in the village.
