Mohan Yadav is visiting Alampur village in Chicholi tahsil in Betul district in Madhya Pradesh where he meets Gondi speaking laborers during a social audit program of NREGA by CASA organisation who tell him that they do not work in time and even if they get work they get wage less than Rs 146 by calculating work in a different way which is the rate for a day’s work. Dilip Narte from Mandla in Madhya Pradesh is telling us about his village. He says there are around 1000 people in his village. This area has 84 villages.They are all adivasis and they speak in Gondi language. They grow Kodo and Kutki. They celebrate adivasi festivals Saila and Karma and sing and dance.This year Saila is starting from 22nd January.This will continue for a week. We sing Birha song at the time of marriage.
