Rajim from Chhattisgarh Mahila Manch says on 15th July a student of class 10 was gang raped by 3 boys. Till 20th police had not arrested anyone. On 20th 50 members of Mahila Manch met the victim and then went to police station after talking to her. Rajim from Pithora block in Chhattisgarh says today they organised meetings of two villagers where NREGA work is not happening from last one year and people are migrating outside in search of work. She says they gave a memorandum to administrative officers who have promised to start NREGA work in next 3 days. Then she says they also visited a vilalge called Gidli where a Jagannath temple is being built in the village using NREGA money and no dalit families are allowed to work. Rajim from Saraipali block in Chhattisgarh says they have formed a trade union of workers in MGNREGA. In the meeting to form the trade union many issues came up. One of them is that people who get old age pension they are getting denied from MGNREGA work and in many villages no work has been sanctioned under MGNREGA and people are migrating in search of work. Rajim is talking to a class 11 girl student Itu who spends Rs 20 each way on bus fare to go to her school every day. When her labourer parents are unable to pay this money she needs to bunk the school. Rajim says government says they are promoting young girls to get educated then they should make a rule that bus companies should give free ride to school going girl children
