No Tendu compensation to Baiga widow from 2 years...
Anil Bamne from Mungeli district of Chhattisgarh is telling us about widow of Bir Singh Baiga who died two years ago while collecting Tendu leaf. According to Govt laws the widow should get a compensation of Rs 10,000 but she is running pillar to post from last 2 years and no one had helped her. Baiga is a primitive tribe and Govt has many special welfare programs for this tribe but this story probably tells about Govt attitude. For more Anil Ji can be reached at 09977161570

Health officials demanding support from pregnant women!
Anil Bamne from Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh says that he is forced to raise the issue of Govt health staff asking for support from pregnant women at the time of their delivery. He says I raised this issue before but no remedy has been found. At the one end Govt says women will be given some money if they came to hospital for delivery but at this rate Govt should rethink and give that money to women at home to get delivered by qualified nurses.
