Padmalochan Varma in Bodem block of Nuapada district of Odisha is talking to a farmer who is telling him that a private insurance company has cheated thousands of farmers in alleged connivance with government officials. He says there was huge rain deficit last year and crop had suffered. Though farmers have got proper compensation in other nearby blocks in this block many did not get any compensation and some have got Rs 169 per acre. Padmalochan Varma today is standing at Govt hospital in Khariar in Nuapada district of Odisha. He says though people from 3 districts of Nuapada, Bolangir and Kalahandi depends on this hospital it has very little facilities.
