Jaya Dhruv from Jamgaon in Bastar district of Chhattisgarh says that in her village no health worker has been appointed for last 3 years even after repeated requests from the panchayat. For the same reason no immunisation is taking place. The nearest health center is 14 kms away and there are no facilities for going to hospital and the resident adivasis are suffering. In a series of dams on River Narmada one is called Omkareshwar where the dam is almost complete but not the rehabilitation. Affected people are living in their villages and they fear submergence if more water reaches the dam during monsoon. The villagers have decided to start a Jal Satyagarh from 16th July and they will not move from their villages until government completes the just rehabilitation of all the affected people.
