Bastar: No Anganwadi officer from 2 years, workers not paid from 4 months
My name is Jaya Dhruv. I am calling from Bastar in Chhattisgarh to tell you that here the Govt has not been able to appoint the officer in charge for Anganvadis ( Intergrated Child development scheme) in last 2 years. That is causing huge problem for young children. The Anganwadi workers have not got their wages from last 4 months and their work is getting affected. They are getting demoralised. Please help. Officials and police are taking over my land for a company, Please help...

We train women jail inmates so they need not go to world of crime again...
Anita Dhritlahare from Chhattisgarh Mahila Manch is talking to a fellow activist from Jagdalpur in Bastar who tells her that they are a self help group of 10 women who are taking care of under nourished children. They run ration shop and are also running training programs for inmates in jail so that they need go to the world of crime after they are freed. No health worker in my village from 3 years, complaints don't work
Jaya Dhruv from Jamgaon in Bastar district of Chhattisgarh says that in her village no health worker has been appointed for last 3 years even after repeated requests from the panchayat. For the same reason no immunisation is taking place. The nearest health center is 14 kms away and there are no facilities for going to hospital and the resident adivasis are suffering. Omkareswar dam affected people starts Jal Satyagraha
In a series of dams on River Narmada one is called Omkareshwar where the dam is almost complete but not the rehabilitation. Affected people are living in their villages and they fear submergence if more water reaches the dam during monsoon. The villagers have decided to start a Jal Satyagarh from 16th July and they will not move from their villages until government completes the just rehabilitation of all the affected people.
