Lavasa and Jindal : Double standard of Environment ministry

Ramesh Agrawal from Jan Chetna says that Environment ministry has given a show cause notice to a housing scheme in Lavasa Pune because the work of that project had started without environment clearance. Jindal has started a 300 MW power plant in Tamnar in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh in the same fashion without any environment clearanace. But on 9th November the ministry has given go ahead to the Jindals. It is beyond normal comprehension that how come a ministry punishes one person for a crime while rewarding the other for the same

Chhattisgarh govt forced to file a case against Jindals

Ramesh Agrawal from Raigarh has sent a message that finally government of Chhattisgarh was forced to file a case against Jindals who were building a 2400 megawatt power plant in Tamnar without any clearance/permissions. First government arranged a fraud public hearing but when Ministry of Environment and Forest declared the public hearing null and void and have asked government to file a
complaint they had no other way

Live report from public hearing in Dharmajaigarh

Ramesh Agarwal reports live from the public hearing organized by Hind Multiservices for the construction of two new plants. Due to the lack of awareness generated by the authorities only 32 people have turned up to offer their views and complaints, most of them being social activists and very few villagers if any at all making it just a formality.
