Sowing time finishing, farmers wait for NREGA payments

Bhan Sahu today visits a village called Tumdikasa in Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh and talks to a farmers called Govardhan bhai. He says we worked in NREGA in the month of April till June in the hope that it will help us when we need. But now the time is going for sowing and we are get to get full payment. Co-operative to make blankets stops migration of workers

Bhan Sahu is visiting a village called Kamarda in Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh where a co-operative society of adivasis is giving employment to many who knit blankets for the Govt. The person she interviews says after this work they do not need to migrate to other areas in search of work. Live report from rally in Raigarh to protest arrest of activists

Bhan Sahu is reporting live from a rally in Raigarh in Chhattisgarh where around 5,000 men and women have assembled to protest the arrest of social activists Ramesh Agrawal and Harihar Patel. Both were arrested on 28th May on a complaint of misbehavior by an employee of Jindal steel in a public hearing a year back. Meanwhile high court has rejected their bail application. Forest officers still tormenting adivasi lives : Activist

Bhan Sahu today is talking to Arun Ji from Bharatpur in Koria district of Chhattisgarh. Arun Ji says our Govt is showing too much interest in giving land to industrialists but that enthusiasm is not seen when giving forest land to adivasis or sorting their land problem is concerned. He says in remote areas like Bharatpur Forest department officials are still creating havoc in adivasi lives and Govt has been able to deliver on its promise of giving forest land to many. No administrative officer, doctor in hospital, people suffer...

Bhan Sahu is narrating her experience of visiting Tahsil administrative office and hospital in Ambagarh Chowki in Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh. She found the administrative office to be closed because the officer looks after 3/4 Tahsils. People need the signature of the officer for school admission and agriculture work.
