Binod Naik from Sundergarh dist, Odisha telling that, in this area, air and dust pollution is a biggest problem due to the establishment of many mining companies. Every where the one can find dust. The trees, vegetables,domestic animals and people of this area are effected.The Mining houses dig deep boar-well so the Nala(tiny water flow) and river basin here are dried now. what so ever the water flowing now in the tiny river is also polluted. A Govt Industrial Training Institute was established in the area in 1961 but remains in very bad shape. The local tribals need to travel outside if they need job in mining companies. Rabi Pradhan is visiting Kendujhar district of Odisha where he meets women part of Self help group who tell him that there are lots of mines around who are making profit from the area. They have created huge problems for locals but are not providing any facility to them like medical etc. She says some men have got job but there need to be equal work facility for women. Rabi Pradhan is talking to Madhusudanji a Ho adivasi social activist in Chaibasa area in Jharkhand who tells him that Govt has only used the Kolhan area for taking minerals away which has not helped the locals. This area needs irrigation and forest based local cottage industry but less than 5% area is irrigated.
