NMDC mines is taking away our land, how will we survive?

Mangal Kunjam is interviewing a villager near National Mineral Development Corporation mines in Dantewada who says his NMDC township wants to take their culivable land for building a bus stand and quarters for the workers. The villagers say not only the land taken for the stand but also nearby land will be destroyed which is their only source of income. They have complained to higher authorities but no one listens. Blasts in nearby mines have broken our houses, please help

Teacher comes only on 15th August and 26th January...

Naresh Bunkar from Adivasi Jan Van adhikar manch in Kawardha district of Chhattisgarh says in their area two schools were opened 2 years ago but the teachers have come only on 15th August and 26th January. Forest staff live away from area, Teak smuggling continues

Afzal Khan from Bhopalpatnam in Chhattisgarh says teak smuggling in the area continues. This week a team led by few forest guards and daily wage laborers caught teak worth Rs 2.5 lakhs from Indravati river while being transported to Andhra. State has appointed more than a dozen full time staff to stop this smuggling but they do not live in the area.
