Secretary says govt has no system to know about remote areas!
Priyanka Borpujari from Mumbai says yesterday I heard a report on Swara by Savita Raj from Raigarh that children in her anganwadi does not have any food after govt has stopped the supplies. So today I called Women and child welfare secretary of Chhattisgarh government Mr Rao at 09425207525 who told me that I should call up Collector Raigarh as they have no system to find out about situations in villages of remote areas!

Mismatch in expense & facility in Dantewada Danteshwari fair
Mangal Kunjam is talking from Danteshwari mela in Dantewada where he is noticing no arrangement for thousands of tribals who come from far off places as he sees tribals wandering around in heat, as administration has made no arrangement for shades or water. He says it is a world famous adivasi fair and administration collects lots of money from companies for this fair and also claims spending a lot from its own but the arrangement does not match all those claims

After Swara report NMDC removes pipes damaging oldest plants
Yashwant Ramteke from Dantewada in Chhattisgarh says two days after he reported about damage to Tree furn, the oldest plant on earth by NMDC pipelines, now forest department has ordered NMDC to remove the pipelines with a threat of action against head of NMDC if not done immediately. After the order NMDC has removed their pipeline from the protected area. As you know 15-20 hectare in Dantewada is the only area in central India where Tree Furns are found which are believed to be more than 250 million years old. Yashwant can be reached at 09424278552

Children without food in Anganwadi after govt stops supply
Savita Raj from Barlia village in Raigarh in Chhattisgarh says their Self Help Group of adivasi woman is running a ICDS (anganwadi) center in the village but they have not received any help from the government from 1st January. She says we are a group of poor adivasi women we managed to give cooked food to children in last few months but we can not manage any more and today we could only give little dry food to children. Police case against NREGA whistle blower in Surguja
As you may recall Prakash Gupta had sent a report from Bilaspur village in Batauli block of Surguja district on 5th March where some laborers had got Rs 70 as wages in NREGA work ( instead of 100) and some did not get any. After the report went out on 8th March administration had conducted an enquiry. The report of the enquiry is not out yet but Sarpanch and Secretary of the village has filed a report against Prakash and his father accusing them of obstructing NREGA work also in special police station for scheduled tribes.
