NREGA laws need to be revised for rocky adivasi villages

Aloka from Ranchi says it is not possible to dig wells or ponds on rocky land because the Manrega scheme is limited to planting trees, soil shifting, and leveling activity.Cutting rock is not included in the scheme. An Oraon village leader in a village 30 kilometres off Ranchi explained to Aloka, that most Oraon villages are based on rocky land and so NREGA laws needs to be revised if it is to be effective for them. For more please contact Aloka at 09430194872
