First Odia news magazine wrote about famine then only British brought relief...

Rabi Shankar Pradhan is talking to writer Bhupen Mahapatra on the occassion of 175th birthday of Gaurishnakar Roy who started first Odia magazine Utkal Deepika and is known as father of the language. He tells him that the paper wrote extensively about the famine in Odisha in 1858 and that’s how British came to know about it and took some action.
