Raju Kumar from Semaria block of Chatra district tells us that his area is a hilly area and the monsoon rains disappear there within few hours. He says his region today is known for hunger, drought and violence. Majority of people are dependent on farming for their livelihood and they need to migrate in summer for work to other states. He says I am quite confident that if we can stop this running away monsoon water in ponds by making bunds this place will definitely be not known for hunger in future.
