Govt declares buffer zone in Seoni In violation of PESA, Adivasis protesting...

Makhanlal Soni from Korai block of Seoni district in Madhya Pradesh is telling us about a meeting of adivasis today in Erma village under the banner of Adivasi Swasashan Sangh ( Adivasi sel-rule organisation). Going against PESA act the Govt has declated part of the area as buffer zone which adivasis are protesting. Govt should also help poor patients with medicine in Govt hospitals...

Kameshwar Rana from Hazaribagh in Jharkhand says most of the time no medicine is available in Govt hospitals and poor people need to buy the medicine from outside. He says this should change and Govt should also help poor people with medicine. Adivasi handicapped orphan running pillar to post for pension from 5 years...

My name is Vanjam Poddaiah. I am calling from Kondapalli Village, P.S Palli Panchayat, Chinturu mandal, Khammam district of Andhra Pradesh. In 2006 I met with an accident while climbing a tree.Since then I am unable to move my lower limbs. I am an orphan and I got responsibility to look after my brother and two sisters. Adivasis should study PESA law properly to get it implemented in their favor

Uma from Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh is telling us about Panchayat Extension in Scheuled Area or PESA 1996 which tells us that panchayats in scheduled area can make their own laws and no law of the nation can over rule or make rules which are not in tune with laws made by Panchayat. Adivasi working on land from 20 years, Forest dept evicts, plants Jatropha...

Chandra Pratap Singh from Navrachna in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh is visiting a village called Sirhitti in Gourela block where he meets an adivasi farmer Mewalal who tells him though he was working on forest land from more than 20 years the forest department officials threw him out and planted Jatropha in 2007.
