Aparna Marandi is asking us if our nation is really independent. She says when I look around so many years after independence same repression as British is continuing and there is not much progress on health, education of poor. Educated are not getting jobs. She says my husband Jeetan Marandi is an example. He was writing songs to make people aware about their rights and to fight against obscurantism,dowry etc and he is in jail on false charges. Govt doing another historic injustice by not impementing Forest rights Act
Kalu Kumar from Manikpur in Chitrakoot district of Uttar Pradesh is telling us that govt is again doing a historical inustice to adivasis by not implementing the forest rights act properly. He says in the law forest department has no role but they are playing a very negative role. The forest protection committees are not getting any say though the law gives them a specific role.Community rights over forest is not being recognised at all. It is 12 o'clock, none of the teachers are here, students are playing!
Chandra Pratap Singh from Navrachna Samaj Sevi sanstha in Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh is visiting a school in Gaurela block in Saraipani village. He says it is 12 o’clock here but none of the 4 teachers are around and children are playing. He calls up the sweeper of the school who tells him that headmaster has gone to collect money for mid day meal and he has no idea about other 3 teachers. Panchayat expels primitive tribals from village, No action after complaint!
Bhan Sahu is talking to Agadha Thakur from Chhattisgarh Adivasi Vikas Parishad who tells her that in Gariaband district 40 kms from Dhurwagudi there is a village called Sagada where people from primitive Bhunjia Kamar tribe lives. Yadav caste dominated panchayat of that village has expelled 45 adivasis of 6 families from the village and they are forced to live on their farmland 5 kms from the village after digging a well and making temporary houses.
