कोरबा में बालको के अवैध कब्जे की जमीन के नियमितीकरण मामले पर कांग्रेस ने शुक्रवार को मुख्यमंत्री डॉ. रमन सिंह के खिलाफ रायपुर के प्रथम अपर सत्र न्यायाधीश (एडीजे) की अदालत में केस दायर किया।मुंह के कैंसर जिम्मेदार माने जाने वाले गुटखा पर छत्तीसगढ़ में शीघ्र ही प्रतिबंध लगने जा रहा है। पता चला है कि सप्ताह भर में इस पर प्रतिबंध का आदेश जारी कर दिया जाएगा। राज्य शासन ने इसकी तैयारी पूरी कर ली है। दक्षिण बस्तर के दंतेवाड़ा से होकर बहने वाली शांत डंकनी नदी इतनी खतरनाक होगी, किसी ने कल्पना नही की थी। चार-चार मासूमों को निगलने वाली यह नदी ऐसी क्यों हुई? इस पर आज दिन भर शहर में चर्चा होती रही। तीन-तीन परिवारों के लिए अभिशप्त बनी डंकनी का यह रूप स्थानीय स्तर पर रेत उत्खनन करने वालों की वजह से सामने आया।

Dr Haneef in Khammam district of Andhra Pradesh is visiting Nagopally village where more than 500 adivasis live. They tell him that they got 600 acre of forest during Bhudan movement but from last 3 years forest department is attacking them and trying to plant some trees there. Raju Kumar from Chatra district in Jharkhand is telling us about some Watershed projects in his block. According to the scheme some ponds were to be dug which farmers can use for irrigation, some embankments to be made to stop the water and also some self help groups were to be formed which will help villagers do some small scale business like poultry etc to make them self sufficient. Each self help group was supposed to be given Rs 50,000. The project has finished in March but the groups are yet to get the money. Kaladas Daharia from Chhattisgarh Mukti Morcha in Bhilai is talking to a fellow worker about a rally brought out yesterday against repressive measures being taken against workers in Maruti plant in Manesar near Delhi. They are also protesting against the death of 5 workers in an industrial accident in a power plant in Raigarh. Mangal Kunjam from Dantewada in Chhattisgarh is telling us that Hemant Kashyap from Dantewada had reported about a village called Pondum on 13th July where children were eating their mid day meal rice only with salt and cillies as they were not provided any pulses or vegetables. He says the next day on 14th July Collector had ordered an enquiry and now two teachers in charge of mid day meal has been suspended and according to newspaper it has been found that the situation was similar in quite a few schools.
