Alok Shukla from Chhattisgarh Bachao Andolan is telling us about a rally in Raipur yesterday demanding CBI enquiry into the attack of social activist Ramesh Agrawal. The rally also demanded stopping harassment of social activists in Chhattisgarh and enquiry of Basaguda massacre by Supreme Court. 22 more peoples organsations took part in the rally. Vishnu Sharma from Bolangir district of Odisha says couple of months back I has sent an interview with few laborers who had told that they had not got their NREGA wages from 2 years. After the interview went out on Swara I got a call from Panchayat Secretary of Odisha who had promised to solve the problem. Indeed there was an inquiry but the laborers still have not any wages. The officials instead asked the laborers to take Rs 200 and keep their mouth shut. Mr Sharma is reading out the messages from some laborers as there is no phone connectivity in those villages. In a series of dams on River Narmada one is called Omkareshwar where the dam is almost complete but not the rehabilitation. Affected people are living in their villages and they fear submergence if more water reaches the dam during monsoon. The villagers have decided to start a Jal Satyagarh from 16th July and they will not move from their villages until government completes the just rehabilitation of all the affected people.
