Agriculture department cheating farmers with extra cost

Dhananjay Tikadar from Malkangiri in Odisha says his is the most backward district in the state. All the people are dependent on farming. They depend on Govt subsidy shops for seed, fertilizer and pesticide. From last few years government officials are cheating farmers by charging Rs 30 to 50 extra in each bag by giving excuses. Sarpanch says no water in my village, officers don't listen

Govind Salam a Sarpanch in a village in Hoshangabad district of Madhya Pradesh says there are 50 drinking water connection in his village but most of them are not working and only 3/4 are functional. People are in big trouble and are forced to fetch water from nearby villages. Complaint to authorities are not working. He requests us to help reach the authorities. CM says give jobs to primitive tribals, officials unmoved

Bindeshwari Painkra says Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh has said in Vidhan Sabha that special care will be taken for giving government jobs to educated primitive Pahadi Korwa tribals but he is talking to some of them who narrate their experience that when they went to apply for some jobs of government people the officials in collectorate tried to misguide them. Water diversion to industry will destroy farmers say activists

Impact: Swara report delivers food to adivasi children in forest area

Anil Bamne from Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh says couple of weeks back I had reported about non functioning of Anganwadi centers in adivasi villages inside Achanakmar tiger reserve. After the report the offials did a inspection and found the anganwadis to be closed in two villages and food was stored in the house of a govt official. The food has now been shifted to Anganwadi for use of the children and this action has improved the functioning of other nearby centers. He thanks the officials for their prompt action.
