NREGA: Built road on my land and did not even pay wages

My name is Chitman Baria. My father’s name is Amar Singh Baria. My village is Barla in Ghanas panchayat in Turaikalla block of Bolangir district of Odisha. Last year an NREGA work came to our village and they built a road on my land. They asked to work on that road and said they will give wages. Poor adivasis in Chhattisgarh jails need your help...

Kopa Kunjam from Chhattisgarh says all the poor adivasis who are in jail from 2009, many of them associated with political parties and some also elected members still languish in jail while all the rich have got bail. He says when court sends notice to people for statement many do not bother and the cases get delayed. High Court had ordered that if a witness does not turn up for 3 months then case should move ahead but this order is not being adhered. Poor in jail in Chhattisgarh need your help. Thousands of trees are cut in Rajasthan, No one cares...

Villagers say they do not want to give land to power plants
