PDS shop cheating on weight: Complaints do not work

Sonam from Datia district in Madhya Pradesh says the Public distribution System shopkeeper in her village is cheating in weight and gives less. They have complained twice to Collector in public hearing and have also written to Commissioner in Gwalior but no action has been taken. She requests us to help get the complaint checked. Police arrested 3, Have not produced in court in a week!

Lalit Chakraborty from Malkangiri in Odisha says police have arrested 3 youth in Padmagiri area on 19th March. They also broke house of one of the person before arresting. More than 200 people marched to collector and district police chief who told them that there was a warrant against the arrested. My Policeman husband missing from 2 years, No one cares!

Padma Sodhi is talking to us from Bijapur in Chhattisgarh. She says my husband Dularam Sodhi was a police constable. He was posted in Naxal affected Bhadrakali police station and he is not tracable from 16th Sept 2010. I have written to all the higher officials including SP, DGP and Chief Minsiter. 2000+ adivasis languish in Bastar jails without legal help

Mangal Kunjam from Dantewada says there are more than 2000 adivasis lnguishing in various jails in Chhattisgarh who are not able to get bail because they are poor. He gives example of alleged payment to Naxal case where the official of Essar and the contractor has been released in bail but the two adivaisis accussed in the case still remain in jail. Forest department throws primitive tribal out of forest land

Bindeshwari Painkra today is visiting a Pahadi Korwa village in Rajrahta hills where he meets Rajkumar a primitive Pahari Korwa tribal who tells him forget about getting a deed for the land wheer he was cultivating under Forest Rights Act, the forest department has planted trees in 5 acre land.
