Tribal girls facing neglect in hostel, complaints dont work

In Bishanpura Khandua village, 50 girls are studying in a tribal girls ashram. There is no arrangement for clean drinking and toilet water. Children are falling ill, and there is no medical aid available. In case of power failure, children have to manage in the dark. Saroj, the parent of a girl who studies in class one in the Ashram has complained in the parents teachers meeting, but no action has been taken. The president of the ashram lives in Jabalpur and travels to and fro daily. Saroj seeks the help of Swara community for improvement in the conditions of the ashram. Forest dept burns 40 huts of Chhattisgarh tribals in Andhra

Dr Haneef from Andhra- Chhattisgarh border is telling us that today some forest officials came with more than 100 forest guards and burnt down 40+ huts of Interneally Displaced people ( IDP) tribals. These Chhattisgarh tribals are living in the reserve forest due to ongoing war in Chhattisgarh and they look for work in nearby areas for their survival. NREGA: Officials took away our card, we are unable to work

My name is Pradumna. I am from Kachnar Adivasi Vikas Samiti. I am now speaking from Sur village in Surguja district of Chhattisgarh. Here officials have confiscated the NREGA card of the workers 2 months back saying it needs updation and have not returned them yet which is not allowing laborers to do more work. Health workers charging Rs 300 from pregnant poor women!

Shankar Lal ji from Lalitpur in Uttar Pradesh is telling us corruption by local health workers who are charging Rs 200-300 from poor adivasi pregnant women to make their cards. Adivasi women have not complained anywhere but when Shankar Lal ji asked the health workers they told him that they need to pass on money to their higher officials so they are helpless.
