Yesterday Andhra forest department burnt 40 houses of IDP Adivasis who were living in reserve forest at Andhra- Chhattisgarh borer after fleeing a war at their home. One of them Komran Rajesh sends a desparate plea for help. Forest department people have burnt his home, looted about 5000 rupees, burnt the fodder for the cows and his class ten certificate. “I am reduced to a nothing, without education, without even clothes, where will I go now? Pitbasu Bhoi is a laborer who got his wages for 100 days of wrok in NREGA last year only after he complained in Swara. Though he had lost his son before because he could not pay for his treatment. Today he travels in the villages to find out about situation of other laborers. Shivram Sonwani from Surguja in Chhattisgarh says villagers of Sur have been complaining on Swara from last one month about non payment of NREGA wages to them. Finally some officials from districts visited the village and have found that 72 laborers have not got their wages. 8 people have not got job cards. The officials have asked for a time of one month by the time payment will be made. The villagers have told them that if the promise is not kept they will be forced to gherao the bloack office.
