Khuturam Sunani is telling us today about a village in Bolangir district in Odisha. He says Bolangir is known for drought and distress migration but this vlllage is known for its drinking. The village has 10 handpumps but 20 liquor shops. Additionally it has an english liquor shop. The situation is so bad that many have deposited their BPL cards to continue drinking. Gulaliya Kanasiya from Badwani district in Madhya Pradesh says there were some NREGA work in his village in mid 2010 where some false payments were made.The villagers have submitted a complaint to CEO Badwani on 16/11/10. They followed up with another application on 23/6/11 and then again on 10/8/11 they submitted a third application.
