Police People face to face in Posco area, situation tense

Prashant Paikray, spokesperson for Posco Pratirodh sangram samiti says 20 platoon of policemen have arrived at around 8.30 am at Govindpur which is the proposed area for Posco steel plant to acquire the land. 2500 people are sitting in opposition, children at front, after that are women and older people. Police is announcing that sec 144 have been imposed and people should leave. People are adamant to not leave their land and the situation is very tense. Bad situation of mobile network in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh

A citizen journalist from Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh is talking to a mobile phone user who is telling about the bad situation of mobile services in the district. He says BSNL is down from last 3 days and it takes 15 to 20 minutes to complete one call in Idea because the call gets dropped every now and then. He says Bijapur is a district headquarter but the mobile connectivity is appalling here and it is going from bad to worse

Rebelled to work in factory, lost hands, job, community support

Dineshwar Nayak from Jharkhand today talks to Tulsi Munda.

Dam was built in 2005, affected farmers have got only assurances

Bhan Sahu today travels to Mogra village 9 kms from Ambagarh Chowki in Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh. She talks to a villager who tells her that a dam was built in the village in year 2005. Many farmers lost their land but they are yet to get their compensation. He says we went to officials many times. Last year we sat on a dharna and the officials promised we will get compensation by January. Recently we again went to the collector who sent us back giving more assurances.
