Workers fired at for taking part in May Day rally now reinstated...

Sandeep from Gorakhpur is telling us about the situation after firing on workers on 3rd May in which 2 were seriously injured. Workers were protesting removal of 18 workers for taking part in a May day rally. Due to continued protest since then workers have been reinstated. But other similar protests in nearby factories have not yielded results yet. Some workers were arrested in between but are now released. Report about water scarcity in adivasi villages in Rajasthan

Abu Taleb Khan and Aneesh Ahmed are working in Srishti Sewa Samiti in Dungarpur. They are visiting some adivasi villages in this district in South Rajasthan and are reporting from a village. They say people here are mainly suffering from lack of water facility. Village has 7 handpumps and 3 are not working. Women are facing huge problem due to this. Anganwadi worker does not come, Children suffer...

Deepu from Satna district of Madhya Pradesh says the Anganwadi worker does not work in his village which is badly affecting children. The immunizations are not taking place and children are suffering. He says he has complained to authorities about it but they are yet to take any action. Peaceful protest against illegal mining needs your help

He says the farmers are sitting on peaceful dharna from 5th April. on 19th police tried to break the agitation by force, then on 4th May arrested 12 people including 6 women. They were illegally kept in jail for 2 days before being charged with unbailable offences. People have started hunger fast since and some of them are in bad situation. Govt closes 239 liquor shops, opens 521 new ones!

Kaladas Daharia from Chhattisgarh anti liquor campaign says Govt has closed down 239 liquor shops and this was publicized in big way but what they do not tell that 521 new shops were opened. According to a survey more than 15,000 illegal liquor shops are running in the state. Many of them have protection from police and police have also beaten up people protesting against.
