Bindeshwari Painkra is reporting from a village in Surguja district of Chhattisgarh where NREGA payments are due from 2 years and tribals are forced to migrate in search of work to big cities. He says officers and ministers have given many assurances but none has worked. He says we are grateful to Govt for eliminating Naxal terror from Suguja. we are fighting the terror of elephants here. Public was not allowed in Public hearing for Uranium mine!
A villager from Jadugoda area of Jharkhand says that today a public hearing took place for expansion of Uranium mines of Uranium Corporation of India where common public was not allowed to attend and speak. He says earlier it was announced that the hearing will take place in the football ground but it took place inside the mine workers colony where only the family members of the mine workers were allowed. A song in adivasi Nagpuri language describing effects of industry
Dineshwar Nayak is a poet and singer in Adivasi Nagpuri language in Jharkhand. He says the coal companies and factories are creating lots of problem for adivasi people. Water level is going down. Workers are dying at younger age due to pollution. Earth is emptying out for mines and houses are cracking. People protesting against illegal mines still in jail in Rajasthan
Ashok Shrimali says Meena ji had reported about a people’s movement against illegal mines in Sikar in Rajasthan. He says local people are continuing with their struggle. Observations from a trip to home, a tribal village in Jharkhand
Santosh Tudu is an engineer and lives in Ranchi. Last week he went to his village and wants to share his observations. He was shocked to find the quality of drinking water which has also made him sick. He went to a fair where people did not mind postponement a theater show after buying tickets.
