Social audit of government schemes is need of the hour

Umesh Chandra Gaur president of confederation of Community Based organisations says that Rajiv Gandhi said when 1 rupee goes from Delhi only 15 paisa reaches the villages and 85 paisa gets gobbled by corruption. All the community based organisations should come together to start nation wide social audit of all the government schemes to check where this each 85 paisa goes

Niyamgiri : Tribals allegedly duped by pro Vedanta group

Giridhari Patra from Niyamgiri is telling about a meeting in the collector office today where more than 200 tribals were taken by duping them by a front of Vedanta. Mini steel plants in bad shape due to faulty govt policy

Bhagirath Verma from Chhattisgarh Mukti Morcha says small iron mills in the state are in very bad situation because the state is exporting iron ore in very cheap rate and giving the same ore to Indian companies in 6 or 7 times higher rate. For this policy the laburers in these factories are in hand to mouth situation. He says government must change this policy otherwise the laborers will be forced to come on the road to protest

Activist harassed by police after being labelled Naxal supporter

Ramgopal Kashyap a social activist in Pithora area of Mahasamund district in Chhattisgarh was beaten up by local police inside the police station. Mr Kashyap was allowed to go home on intervention of some ATS police officers but when Mr Kashyap did a complaint to the higher authorities he was again dragged to the police station and was forced to sign on a paper saying police never beat him
