Interview with a sweet vendor from Uttar Pradesh in a Chhattisgarh haat...

Surendra Hanspal is visiting a village called Bakhel 50 kms from Bhilai in Chhattisgarh where weekly haat is on and he meets Shiv Sahu who is selling sweets there. Shiv tells him that he is from Bareli in Uttar Pradesh and he has come this far because there is less competition here. He tells him that he earns around Rs 100 to 150 everyday and people in Chhattisgarh are very co-operative. He also plans to make Chhattisgarh his home. Its another normal job, proud to be woman railway coolie...

Surendra Hanspal is surprised to find a woman as coolie in Raipur railway station in Chhattisgarh. He finds out that there are two women coolies amongst many men. He speaks to one of them Paras who tells him that it is like any other normal job. She is happy that she can earn upto 300 rupees a day whereas in normal labor work she can not earn more than 100. IAS select says wants to bring city like facilities in villages

Surendra Hanspal is meeting Ritesh Agrawal in Kharora near Raipur in Chhattisgarh who has been selected in IAS from this small town. In the interview Mr Agarwal says he got inspiration to become an IAS from this small village where there were not much facilities and he had to live in a hostel for his education. Impact: Swara report helps close liquor shop in village

Surendra Hanspal is reporting from a village called Sandi Bangla 55 kms north of Raipur in Chhattisgarh. He says a year back on 25th April 2011 I had reported about a movement in this village against a liquor shop and I am very glad to report that after a year the govt has not given license to that shop this year and people are very happy.
