Shivsharan Singh from Sonbhadra district in UP says when Nehru came to start work on Rihand dam in 1954 he said this place will be next Switzerland but today it has turned a living hell for locals. Many were displaced. The area supplies 12,500 MW of electricity to country but locals get it hardly for few hours in day. Agriculture production is going down. People suffer from severe pollution.
