लोग कहने लगे पराई है पराई
जब तक कली ये डाली से लिपटी रही
आँचल मे मुँह छिपा कर, दूध पीती रही
फूल बनी धागे मे पिरोई गई
किसी के गले में हार बनते ही
टूट कर बिखर गई
ताने सुनाये गये दहेज में क्या लाई है
पैरों से रौन्दी गई
सोफा मार कर घर से निकाली गई
कानून और समाज से माँगती रही न्याय
अनसुनी कर उसकी बातें
धज्जियाँ उड़ाई गई
अंत में कर ली उसने आत्महत्या
दुनिया से मुँह मोड़ लिया
वह थी
एक गरीब माँ बाप की बेटी.

Sarita Gautam from Allahabad says earlier this month on 3rd September in Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh a Dalit student was beaten up by a teacher when he touched the drinking water. When I called up the Superitendent of Police and also the nearby police station they did not give me any proper reply.
