Villagers form organisation to decide their own collective fate

Subhash Gayali from Dhanbad in Jharkhand says people in the area says companies here have destroyed their forest and land a lot and they feel the need to make a people’s organisation to stop further destruction. He speaks to one villager who tells him that they have formed an organisation and will from now on will decide their fate o their own. Not enough supply of subsidized seed, fertilizer in Jharkhand

Uttam Gayali, a farmer in Jharkhand says that the centre sanctioned more than one lakh sixty thousand tons of food supplies ( for drought relief) But only about sixty thousand tons were supplied. After three years of drought, the area has got rains and the farmers expect to get their own crops this year. If corruption not controlled, we may not remain independent

Adivasi women stop govt survey team by force in Jharkhand

Subhash Gayali from Jharkhand is telling us about an incident today in Noamundi area of West Singhbhum district where village women stopped a govt survey team. The women asked the survey team whether they have permission to do survey from the Gram Sabha. When the survey team could not answer satisfactorily the team was physically stopped by the women’s team.
