Uttam Gayali, a farmer in Jharkhand says that the centre sanctioned more than one lakh sixty thousand tons of food supplies ( for drought relief) But only about sixty thousand tons were supplied. After three years of drought, the area has got rains and the farmers expect to get their own crops this year. Subhash Gayali from Jharkhand is telling us about an incident today in Noamundi area of West Singhbhum district where village women stopped a govt survey team. The women asked the survey team whether they have permission to do survey from the Gram Sabha. When the survey team could not answer satisfactorily the team was physically stopped by the women’s team.
