Villagers use their mobile phones to record these songs and reports. They call 08050068000 to record. Now this program can be downloaded by people from their Gram Panchayat office if it has Broadband or from a download centre nearby. They can also get it from someone nearby with smartphone and internet and then via bluetooth.

If mining companies don't give us jobs we'll start movement to close them down...

Subhash Gayali is calling from Dhanbad district of Jharkhand where villagers are sitting on a one day long demonstration in Mohda area. Villagers say Coal mining has destroyed their land which was their only source of livelihood and have also not given any job to them. Children died in abandoned Open cast mines, demand for leveling gets louder

Subhash Gayali from Dhanbad in Jharkhand is telling us that locals in that area has been demanding for long that after coal mining is finished the abandoned open cast mines should be levelled so that farmers can restart their farming. That demand got louder today when 4 children drowned in collected water inside an open cast mine, where they had gone to play and lost their lives. People are very angry after the incident. Villagers vow to continue demand leveling of closed mines to restart farming...

Subhash Gayali is talking to us today from village Nagda in Dhanbad district. He is attending a meeting of Grameen Vikas Sangharsh Samiti where many villagers are taking part. The villagers say that they will continue their struggle against the mining comoany demanding that the company levels the closed coal mines and give the land back to farmers so that they can restart their farming.
