Subhash Gayali is calling from Dhanbad district of Jharkhand where villagers are sitting on a one day long demonstration in Mohda area. Villagers say Coal mining has destroyed their land which was their only source of livelihood and have also not given any job to them. Subhash Gayali from Dhanbad in Jharkhand is telling us that locals in that area has been demanding for long that after coal mining is finished the abandoned open cast mines should be levelled so that farmers can restart their farming. That demand got louder today when 4 children drowned in collected water inside an open cast mine, where they had gone to play and lost their lives. People are very angry after the incident. The villagers say that they will continue their struggle against the mining comoany demanding that the company levels the closed coal mines and give the land back to farmers so that they can restart their farming.
