ग्राम-मेटापाल, जिला-दन्तेवाडा (छत्तीसगढ़) से सीजीनेट जनपत्रकारिता यात्रा के दौरान शुभ्रांशु चौधरी गाँव के सरपंच रत्ना कुरियाम से चर्चा कर रहे हैं ये बता रही हैं विगत 4 साल से इस गाँव के सरपंच हैं इनके गाँव में रोड नही है पुलिया नही है बच्चों को स्कूल जाने के दिक्कते होती है पंचायत में गाँव दूर दूर हैं जहां से लोगों को रोड न होने से आने जाने में दिक्कत होती है. इनका कहना है ये दंतेवाड़ा अधिक नही जा पाती इस कारण से अधिकारियों से बात भी नही हो पाती और नेटवर्क भी नही रहता, अभी भी गाँव में ये समस्या बनी हुई है इन पर अपने बच्चो की जिम्मेदारी होने के कारण ये अगले वर्ष चुनाव नही लड़ना चाहती है ये अपने गाँव का विकास और बदलाव देखना चाहती हैं...

Omkareswar dam affected people starts Jal Satyagraha

In a series of dams on River Narmada one is called Omkareshwar where the dam is almost complete but not the rehabilitation. Affected people are living in their villages and they fear submergence if more water reaches the dam during monsoon. The villagers have decided to start a Jal Satyagarh from 16th July and they will not move from their villages until government completes the just rehabilitation of all the affected people. Adivasis dont trust they will get job in industry after giving land

Munni Hansda, an adivasi leader from Santhal Pargana region of Jharkhand is leading an agitation against proposed coal mine, dam and a power project in Dumka district. She says they are opposing these projects as it will displace lots of people. Adivasi people are not educated so they will not get any job in the industry. We are winning the fights against companies says Adivasi leader

Adivasi leader Kumar Chand Mardi says adivasis in Jharkhand are fighting to save their land as their ancestral land is their only source of income and people are winning wherever they are fighting. He says Mittal is trying to come from last many years, so is Jindal and so is so many companies who have signed memorandum of understanding with the govrnment but none of them have been able to take land though government is trying to cheat them in variety of ways.
