He says 2 children have died of malaria last week near his village and he can see a small news item in a newspaper about another death by malaria in a nearby village. Praful Chandel says last year we have reported on this forum about huge Malaria problem in few blocks of Bilaspur district in Chhattisgarh but it seems Govt has not learnt any lessons. Today two people have died in Marwahi block. We are regularly hearing about malaria patients from other areas but neither the medicines are availalable nor there is any training being planned to brief the ground level health staff. He says because these two officials also went to a private hospital for their treatment where they died there is no mention of their death in official record. Praful asks if we do not know the exact number of deaths then how can we work to stop them next year?
