Today Mangal Kunjam is helping us listen to reports and songs from Chhattisgarh in this latest edition of Bluetooth radio program in Hindi and Gondi languages. Villagers use their mobile phones to record these songs and reports. They call 08050068000 to record. Now this program can be downloaded by people from their Gram Panchayat office if it has Broadband or from a download centre nearby. They can also get it from someone with smartphone and internet and then via bluetooth.

Mangal Kunjam has met with relatives of Hunga an adivasi from Bade Gudra village in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh. Hunga was arrested few weeks back from local traditional healer’s house. His pregnant wife Hurre was badly beaten when she tried to get Hunga back from police. Hurre gave birth to a boy. But due to police beating there were complications and Hurre died in Jagdalpur hospital today leaving her child behind. They have one more child who is at home. Hunga is in jail. Mangal@7389032274

Mangal Kunjam is telling us that when many were singing and dancing at marriage ceremony of son of former Communist Party of India MLA from Dantewada, Chhattisgarh Nandaram Sori on 19th April a police team arrested 8 adivasis from Potali village including 2 women. Villagers claim arrested are farmers and have no connection with Maoists. They visited SP but could not get any answer. Mangalram Kunjam is calling from Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh and talking to Janpad member Rajuram Bhaskar who tells him in Gondi that National Mineral Development Corporation is using contract laborers to do Public Hearing for expansion of mines. Local representatives have opposed proposal to increase capacity of mines but NMDC is using fraudulent means to get permission by conducting false public hearing posing labors from outside as villagers. In 50 years the company has employed very few locals and waste is dumped on fields causing great damage to adivasis. A memorandum was submitted to reserve jobs for locals and save environment.
