No traditional forest dweller got land deed in Nuapada

Ruchi Panda from Nuapada district of Orissa says since 2005 no traditional forest dweller has got land rights since the law was inacted. And those tribals who have got land rights, their deeds are not eligible for food insurance. 2 thousand people participated in a rally demanding these legitimate rights under banner of Jal jungle Mukti Andolan. She says people looked very angry in the rally and it is a Maoist affected area and the administration should be listening to people’s concerns carefully. Ms Panda can be reached at 09437203461
