Collector have not got time to meet anti-mining Adivasi protesters in 21 days...

Suresh Barsagare is reporting from Gadchiroli, Maharashtra in Hindi and Marathi about the protest against proposed mining in Surjagarh hills of Etapalli tehsil. He says this region is rich in minerals and is also the abode of the Thakur Dev. This entire region falls under the Schedule 5 of the Indian Constitution and is also considered holy by the adivasis of this region. The livelihood of these people depend on the forest resources but now a breach of regulations have allowed Lloyd company to have the iron mine on lease. The graam sabha and the social activist groups of this region are all united in protest against this move. The adivasis of this region are fearful that this move might affect their lives. Protest marches were organised against this problem and a demonstration is on in-front of the collector’s office from 5th January but the collector didn’t reply till date
