RTI act has made local officials more responsible: Adivasi activist

Herman Minj from Sundergarh district in Odisha is talking to Mr Barla who is an Right to Information activist. This adivasi RTI activist tells him that he has filed more than 150 applications so far and local officials are aware of power of RTI now and behave more responsibly for the act. He has managed to get local officials fined by Rs 25,000 for providing late information but due to this work he has also been to jail for 24 days. He is now out on bail and his case continues.
