Midwives getting impatient with Govt who is not listening to their demands...
Brijesh Singh from Rewa in MP is talking to traditional midwives who are getting impatient with Govt who is not yielding to their demands. The midwives dont get any support from Govt when they help in childbirth in villages. When they bring mother to hospital they get Rs 250 that too after making rounds of officials which goes in their travel only. They demand they should be treated like health workers. Arrest of Madhuri: Jagrut Adivasi Dalit Sangathan will gherao police station
Maganji from Jagrut Adivasi Dalit Sangathan in Badwani in MP is telling us that they are going to gherao local police station protesting arrest of their leader Madhuri. He says on 12th November 2008 there was a case of child birth by an adivasi woman in a Govt hospital when the woman was forced to give birth on road and Madhuri had protested. Forest dept arrested vegetarian Baiga adivasis as threat to wildlife!
Dhruv bhai is telling us about vegetarian Baiga adivasis of Mathna village in Mawai region of Mandla district in MP who have got arrested as threat to wildlife. Last year when these adivasis demanded land rights under Forest Rights act forest dept had destroyed their crop. Forest dept also says they are getting support from Naxals. Pahadi Korwas get together to fight to save their language, way of farming...
Naresh Biswas is visiting Amanara village in Dharmajaigarh block in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh where more than 200 Pahadi Korwa adivasis have ssembled to discuss their language, tradition and unique way of farming called Bewra. He talks to a farmer who tells him in Pahadi Korwa language on how they have shared seeds from each other and have decided to fight together to save their language and way of life.
